About

About

The purpose of this year is to expose and equip young people to a life of ministry and service whilst providing opportunities for personal development and spiritual growth. Some school-leavers know exactly what they want to do as a vocation, while many others aren’t yet sure. We believe that CityScape Leadership Program would be valuable for any school-leaver as a basis from which to launch into the rest of their adult life. While it is aimed at school-leavers, it is not limited. Any young person between 18-28 is welcome!

CityScape Leadership Program provides a platform for our students to explore the meaning of life, their passions, talents and strengths, and to understand who they are in this big wide world.

Students will need to commit their CityScape Leadership Program year to the various ministries and service opportunities at CityHill Church. Students would therefore need to make CityHill their home church for the year.

Our Core Areas

The year focuses on four core areas

Theological Development
Character
Life Skills
Service
Outreach & Adventure

Theological Development

We believe that the Bible is the true word of God. We believe that all Scripture is God-inspired and given to us by God to help us in all of life.

Our hope is that students would:

  1. Be enriched in their understanding of God
  2. Be inspired in their faith
  3. Develop strong foundations for life

Character

We place a strong emphasis on character development. This is done through weekly lectures, leadership training, and team building activities.  We hope to develop our students in the following areas that make up their character:

  • Integrity
  • Creativity
  • Courage
  • Compassion
  • Leadership
  • Team Work
  • Discipline
  • Spiritual Growth

Life skills

The world in which we live is constantly changing and we aim to provide opportunities for our students to be equipped with dynamic, relevant and practical skills for success in life.

We will cover the following topics with the students:

  • Financial education and budgeting
  • Practical skills
  • Problem solving
  • Critical thinking
  • Decision making

Service

Getting stuck in

Service provides incredible opportunities for character growth, leadership and it honours others. We believe that it is often through service that the love of Christ is truly shared.

Students will be involved in weekly service opportunities such at Amped Youth and Fire House (our High School and Primary School youth groups) and at Sunday Services. Students will also be required to serve at several CityHill events throughout the year.

CityScape Leadership Program has partnered with Nation Changers (the social outreach wing of the church). Students will be involved in various projects initiated by Nation Changers.

Outreach & Adventure

We have a variety of ‘getting out there’ projects planned for our students.
These range from mission trips and social upliftment projects to team building activities and social activities.
